Voter Identification

9/1/2017

I find it interesting that Democrats try to sound so outraged by what they call voter suppression by the Republican Party; just another way of hurting our country through creating unwarranted division.

The reason I find it interesting is that throughout our country’s voting history the only political party to deploy tactics against African Americans to suppress their votes has been Democrats. They’ve used tactics such as: 1) Requiring literacy tests. 2) Instituting poll taxes. 3) Creating separate polling boxes for blacks and then discarding their votes.  4) Establishing polling stations that weren’t accessible to blacks (white only facilities). The fact is asking for voter identification is nothing compared to the terrible things Democrats have done to suppress minority votes throughout history.

There’s absolutely no proof that requiring voter identification has suppressed votes in states that have deployed it like in South Carolina. I live in North Carolina and there was a huge liberal outcry over having voter identification. The way I look at it is if someone is opposed he or she should drive (which requires a driver’s license), or get on a plane (which requires photo identification), and travel to D.C. and complain to their representative(s), which I’ve done and I had to provide photo identification to get into the building.

This is the world we live in and in absolutely no way does requiring someone to have photo identification in order to vote, go against any Constitutional rights or pose any type of undue hardship in acquiring photo identification. I’d love for someone to try to prove to me that it does because he couldn’t do it; even the Supreme Court has reviewed it and couldn’t find any undue burden on voters.

I don’t believe a significant amount of voter fraud is taking place but I have to admit that with how close some elections have been, it wouldn’t take much for an unworthy candidate to win an election; so I’m certainly okay with having voter I.D. laws.

For Democrats to make it appear that Republicans are out to suppress African American votes is disgusting and once again (I have to say this often), only hurts our country through creating division. They are constantly willing to hurt the stability of our country for political gain. In some corners of the world they call this treason.
