What Was so Special About Jeffrey?

1/1/2017

In 1619, Jeffery Hudson was born to a common family in London. He looked so interesting that a Duchess saw him and asked his family if she could have Jeffrey; knowing he would have a better life with her than them, they agreed.

King Charles and his French wife (Henrietta), came to visit the Dutch and Duchess and the Queen fell in love with the boy's looks and his wit so the Duchess gave Jeffery to the King and Queen (another upgrade in lifestyle). Jeffrey and the queen became very close friends and he ended up becoming extremely intelligent and received the best education England had to offer.

He fought valiantly in the English Civil War as if he had something to prove and he was an amazing calvaryman. Because of his heriocs on the battlefield he was Knighted Sir Jeffery. Even though he was famous some people made fun of his looks from time to time and at one point he killed a man in a duel because of it; the duel wasn't authorized and he was banned from the Royal Court and sent to Paris.

He had a rough life after this as he was captured and ransomed by pirates twice and he spent years as a slave in North Africa. He finally made his way back to London and was with the Royal Court for a couple of years until he died at the age of 63. Only two people were needed to carry his casket, thus the reason he was such a novelty throughout his life, for Jeffrey looked like a normal man but was only 18 inches tall.
