He could appear aloof at times but don't let that fool you, he attended both Tuffs University and Julliard. Both are very difficult to get accepted into. It helped that he came from a very successful family.
William Hurt died at home (Portland, Oregon) peacefully with family and close friends around at the age of 71. The prostate cancer that he had when initially diagnosed in 2018, was said to be fatal because the cancer had spread to his bones. But he pushed on and lasted longer than the doctor thought even flying his own aircraft more than a year after he was supposed to be dead. Instead of six months to a year, William survived over three years. He left behind four children and two ex-wives and a tremendous legacy.
Rest in peace William and thanks so much for the memories.
