I'm certainly not a Trump fan on a personal level, but the bottom line is that, unlike what these women said, Trump hasn't taken them back to the 1950's. Maybe the media would create a cool documentary of all the things that were said about what Trump would do to hurt women in our country, and then show everyone what he's actually done. Okay, you can quit laughing now.
Right after Trump was inaugurated, there was a huge women's march on D.C. They were making all kinds of claims about how Trump was going to hurt women in our country. Update: Trump has not hurt women in our country. They have more jobs and more discretionary income. Trump has pushed for no policies that would negatively impact women. He's pushed for no polices that would only benefit men.
I'm certainly not a Trump fan on a personal level, but the bottom line is that, unlike what these women said, Trump hasn't taken them back to the 1950's. Okay, you can quit laughing now. One thing that you'll hear a lot about from the Democrat candidates is that there's a shrinking middle class. They sell it like it's a bad thing but the truth is the reason the middle-class is shrinking is that more people are rising up whereas the bracket for the middle-class has stayed the same.
If you look at what the average household income was in 1978 compared to where we are today (factoring out inflation to be fair), most households are up 22%. It doesn't take looking at a database to figure this out, just look at the average lifestyles of the "middle-class," and it's better than ever. Most people are doing well. They're homes are filled with wants not just needs. People are upgrading their vehicles more quickly. They eat out frequently compared to years ago. So the bottom line is people aren't falling backwards into poverty thus shrinking the middle-class, it's just the opposite. But the truth doesn't matter to these Dems; they know the middle-class isn't going backwards into poverty. They're going to create a middle-class crisis and then promise that they'll save these poor people from Republicans who are taking them down. Politics is a dirty business and our elected officials love rolling around in the mud. Even though he said he's doing everything to help the police solve the hate crime, Chicago police say 'Empire' actor Jussie Smollett refused to hand over his cell phone to them when they asked if they could see it . Being that he's the alleged victim of a crime, they haven't subpoenaed his cell phone records. The police were just trying to lockdown the timeline of the attack.
I don't know what the truth is about the alleged attack but I do think that if two men attacked him over his sexual identity and over race, then it would seem he'd have much worse injuries than just a small scratch on his face. He said they had MAGA hats on then changed his story that they were screaming: "Make American Great Again," when attacking him; this allegedly after police found no video footage of anyone wearing the hat. To me, it makes no sense. My guess is there's a lot more to the story and I greatly hope the truth comes out whatever it is. If Smollett was attacked, I hope they find the men who did it. If they specifically did it because of his race and sexual orientation, I definitely hope they slap them with a hate crime to increase their sentencing. Democrats are demanding that Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D), resign over alleged photos of him wearing a racially insensitive costume at a party when he was in college. I for one am not into judging someone from decades ago especially when times were different. Using the same standards now when it comes to what was politically correct in the past, seems unhealthy.
Regardless of this, what upsets me is that they are attacking him over this issue yet they weren't going after him for his comment that it's okay for a baby who has been born to be killed if her mother decides she no longer wants the baby. This is infanticide. Homicide of a newborn. I don't know if you've noticed but the Democratic Party no longer exist. They've been hijacked by extremists. They are now the Democrat/Socialist Party on its way to being a full-blow Socialist Party. I feel sorry for those Democrats who are more middle of the road or a little left of center because their Party is leaving them behind. None of us can afford to sit back and see how things go. We owe it to future generations to get engaged in the political process in 2020 and ensure no Democrats win any election at any level of government. I'm not a hard-core Republican because there's corruption on both sides, but I'm a hard-core anti-Democrat because they've made me this way. I'm not a fan of Tom Brokaw's (retired NBC News Anchor), but I do support some of what he said recently and is getting viciously attacked over. Brokaw was trying to get across the point that the Hispanic community needs to try harder at getting assimilated into our society. He said that they should focus heavily on learning our English language.
What he said was the truth. What he said would be helpful to these immigrants. He was just giving his opinion on the topic and next thing he knows he's being pinned as a racists. There's no way anyone could go back into his coverage over the decades and prove to me that Brokaw is a racist. But the facts don't matter. His personal history doesn't matter. What he's done to support all minorities over the years, doesn't matter. The media is attempting to take him down over 100 words out of the billions of words he's shared in his time in broadcasting. I find that for a political Party which tries to present itself as being inclusive and tolerant, that it certainly doesn't walk the talk. This famous song reached number on the music charts in 1974, 1982, and 1992; the first two times on the country chart (sung by the same music artist), and the last time it reached number one it was on the Pop and R&B Charts. When the original artist took the song to number one twice, she became one of two artists to every pull off this feat. The other music artist was Chubby Checker when he took his hit song: "The Twist," to number one in 1960 and 1962.
After its initial success in 1974, it reached number one in 1982 because it was part of a hit movie soundtrack. After this, in 1992, an extremely popular singer on the Pop Charts and in R&B, asked the song writer if she could sing the song in an upcoming movie she was starring in and it became a number one single again; most of her fans didn't have a clue that it had already hit number one twice. This actress/singer passed away un-expectantly in 2012, which helped the song hit number one on the charts yet again. Maybe you've figured out by now that the writer of this song is Dolly Parton and the song was: "I'll Always Love You." Dolly gave the famous Porter Wagner credit for launching her career and she felt terrible about leaving The Porter Wagner show but she had to move on to work on her music career. She wrote the song in honor of him. This was in 1974. In 1982, she starred in the movie: "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas," and she performed the song again and it hit number one. Dolly is a prolific songwriter; not only songs for herself, but many of her songs have reached "The Top 10" on the music charts that have been sung by other artists. In all, she's credited for writing a little over 3,000 songs. If this weren't enough, she's one of the most successful business women in history. Several independent studies have estimated that government spending on healthcare would increase dramatically, in the range of about $30 trillion or more over a 10-year period. A study released by the Mercatus Center at George Mason University estimated it would cost $32.6 trillion ($3.26T a year). For comparison, the federal budget proposal for the fiscal year 2019 is $4.4 trillion, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
There's nothing that can be done with our tax revenues that would come close to paying for Medicare of All. I have a copy of the IRS's database and the fact is, we'd have to raise taxes on every tax bracket so high that our economy would crash. My feeling is that we shouldn't add any additional costs to our budget until our representatives come up with a surplus budget that pays our debt down first. We can't afford anything new. We can't afford the benefits we're offering now, thus the reason we're in debt around $22T and growing. The promises Democrats are making in reference to free college tuition, paying off students loans, Medicare of All, etc., aren't feasible. Unless they're absolute idiots (which they could be), they know that none of these promises can possibly come true. In my book, I call that lying. They use it to stir up their base. They use it to demonize Republicans for not offering such things. That Republicans don't care about their rights (which aren't really rights but privileges). Divide and conquer only hurts our country but let's face it, these politicians have chosen politics over country because it's how they can get the influence and power they desire so desperately. Important things to know about Medicare for all since Democrats are making a big push for it. First of all, even Obama knew this couldn't be done. Two, Obama Care didn't save healthcare as we know it (something Dems try to sell), as only 2% of Americans are covered under the ACA. Just 2%!
Around 62% of Americans are covered under a private healthcare plan while 32% are under government programs. If Medicare for All became the law of the land, private healthcare is over; you wouldn't be allowed a private plan. You'd be forced to live with whatever quality of healthcare the government provides. Ask a Vet what they think of their healthcare. Ask all the people who come to the U.S. from countries with socialized medicine for Catscans, MRI's and surgeries, because they take too long to schedule in their countries. They think our private healthcare system is pretty good. What would happen to the over 500,000 employees who work in the private healthcare industry? How big would the Federal Government need to be, to manage the 217 million people who are now on private healthcare plans and would need to transfer to a government plan? Would they need to absorb these 500,000 employees to handle the onslaught of medical claims? Besides the outrageous costs of offering Medicare for All that I mentioned in another post, the idea itself, based on what I shared above, is absolutely ridiculous. It makes no sense yet naïve and uneducated voters will jump on these promises the Democrats are making. I've got to hand it to him, even though he's a bigtime liberal, Mayor Bloomberg said it's crazy to make these claims, that our country would go broke. He's one of Hollywood's most liked actors and consistently one of the busiest. His father was a Heisman Trophy winner and he ended as a starting quarterback at UCLA. In his first game at quarterback, UCLA was a huge underdog to consecutive National Champions, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and he led them to a 20-17 victory with a last-second score. He ended up helping turn UCLA's football program around with a 17-5 record at quarterback.
He originally went into the business world but someone he knew said that because of his good looks, that he could make it as an actor and he quickly landed roles on Police Woman, Adam-12, and Emergency. His first huge role was on the award winning series: St. Elsewhere, where he played a doctor. Female viewers were flooding the show with calls and letters; apparently many women were interested in marrying him. :) In 1986, he was People's Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive. But now he's best known for his record-breaking television series NCIS, as it's been in the Top 10 for sixteen years in a row. Only Sixty Minutes has a better record. This amazing actor is Mark Harmon. In 1996, Harmon saved a teenage boy involved in a car accident outside his Brentwood home. The driver had been able to get himself out, but the passenger was trapped in the burning car. Harmon used a sledgehammer from his garage to break the window of the car and pulled the passenger from the flames, who suffered burns to 30% of his body. He's certainly not the Hollywood type as he prefers living a normal lifestyle. He and Pam Dawber (Mork & Mindy), have been married for 31 years and they have two children. Side note: He began his own production company and it produces NCIS New Orleans. But the best news of all, he's not a liberal! :) I can always tell when a new catch phrase has been released via email to all members of the Democrat Party as I hear it used time and time again in interviews and press conferences. The latest phrase when Democrats talk about not needing border wall funding is that it's "old technology." What?! So is the wheel, but it still works great.
Good luck to all Democrats who will be running for office in 2020 because you're going to have a real difficult time explaining why walls don't work, are immoral, and racist. |
